Yet another quick update
We are so close to having our new bedroom finished. The painting is done, all the walls, trim, and even the high, high ceiling, plus touchups (except for one spot where the outlet faceplate didn't fit, at all, and Michael had to saw out part of the baseboard and spackle and now just a tiny part of the wall needs touching up). We've also decided that the hearth needs something. It's just brick, which was painted doo-doo brown to match the floors that were onced painted doo-doo brown. I painted them white, and while it's a slight improvement, it's not great, and Michael REALLY doesn't like it. So we're going to put some tile down. This shouldn't take too long (oh, how many times have we said that?). We're thinking just some white subway tiles or something similar. I'm holding off posting any pictures until this room is DONE so that I can also record a video of a walk-through in the room, just to get a better perspective of things to post on here.

We did subway tile on the hearth of our old house and it turned out great! Although I didn't actually *do* the work, I don't remember it take long at all.
The area's about 2 feet x 3 feet, at the most, so you wouldn't think it'd take too long, but then again, getting this one room painted has taken an eternity.
