At long last

We have finally finished painting the first floor, unless the inside of the kitchen pantry counts.* We'd been working on the laundry room and half bath for months and I finally finished it up this afternoon. Michael hung up some shelves in the laundry room for additional storage, which has freed up a little space in the pantry. We might be addicted to Costco, so that coupled with the little storage space we have presents a bit of a problem. But we're working on creative ways to store all of our crap, albeit a bit slowly.

I've also been meaning to post pictures of some curtains we now have up on the first floor. Since these windows are on the back of the house and face the alley, we weren't in too much of a hurry to hang something for privacy. But my lovely mother and aunt were generous enough to make some curtains for us. Here are the custom-made kitchen and bathroom curtains:


We did not have time to paint the pantry walls before we moved into the new kitchen; it'll be a weekend project sometime, probably when we get more storage in the kitchen and will have to shift things around anyway.
